Union Square Greenmarket Tour

Date: Friday, June 29
Time: 3pm-6pm
Location: Union Square Greenmarket

Greenmarket Professional Tour meets at the Market Manager’s Station and starts with a brief introduction to this world-renowned farmers market system before embarking on a guided walking tour of the market. Beginning with an historical overview of Greenmarket from its founding in 1976 to the present day, the group will learn how the market operates and how it has changed the fabric of NYC neighborhoods. As the group explores the market, you will learn about the Greenmarket mission, our farmers, and how Greenmarket works to improve urban access to fresh, locally grown food. Groups may request specific topics to be addressed, such as market operations, urban and rural connections, food access, regional agriculture, etc. Throughout the tour, the group will have the opportunity to engage in Q&A with farmers in the market. We will also have a food sample of something, but it will only be a few bites.

The tour is about 45-55 minutes.

For those interested, following up the walking tour with a pay your own way dinner at nearby vegan restaurant PeaceFood at 41 east 11th street @ university place.
