2016 Annual Meeting & Town Hall

SLA NY Chapter Town Hall
Wednesday, November 2, 2016

A lively group of chapter members gathered for our annual business meeting and Award ceremony on November 2nd. Conversation flowed over drinks and snacks at the start of the event, and it was almost a shame to interrupt the networking to begin the business part of the meeting. After a short review of the year from chapter president, Emma Davidson, we were introduced to the new board members for 2017. Sarah Davis Grover is our next President-Elect, and she will be joined by Stacie Calabrese as Secretary, and Ashley Candreva will be our Board Mentee.
Then it was time for the awards presentation – an important celebration of some of the excellent work which goes on throughout the year. This year we were delighted to welcome five of our vendor partners as award sponsors, and their representatives were in attendance to present the awards.
Finally, we heard from our special guest, SLA’s Executive Director Amy Burke. Amy spoke to us about all the progress which the association and its staff have made already this year, and shared some details of future plans and upcoming initiatives as well. There is much still to be done, but some amazing achievements have been made already, and the future is looking bright. The evening concluded after an open Q&A session.
